March Braindump (2018)

Greetings from Wales!

On Jan 18, a mere 3 days after we got back from a very stressful and unplanned trip to India, Shane and I planned our first holiday of the year with our beloved Madam Madan.

The Easter long-weekend of is one of the busiest holiday weekends of the year and we wanted to take zero chances. Also, it's perfectly normal to book weekend getaways months in advance so stop judging us already.

This holiday feels so well deserved right now, you have no idea. Shane and I have had one of the busiest weeks of our lives together, juggling a lot of new things all at once. But the other day, when I found myself sounding a bit whiny about it all while talking to a friend, I had to quickly remind myself that this time last year, I would have killed to be in my current position. I remember mid-March to mid-May 2017 as one of the darkest periods of my life when there was a domino effect with everything going wrong all at once. It was so bad, in fact, that I ended up missing my period for three whole months, simply due to the stress of it all.

So as I was starting to sound whiny with my friend, I was quick to correct myself and add that sure, things have been crazy, busy and fast-paced...but for all the right reasons. We wouldn't have it any other way.

Our reward for the hard work in the past few weeks is this trip and what comes immediately after. But first, let me walk you through our agenda for the next three days:

  1. Explore Bangor

"The oldest city in Wales and one of the smallest cities in the United Kingdom"

  2. Hike up Mount Snowdon

    "The highest mountain in Wales"

  3. Zip Line across the Penrhyn Slate Quarry

"The fastest zip line in the world and longest in Europe."

  4. Try not to crap our pants during 3.

But that's just for Shane and Madam Madan who are both scared of heights but love me too much to say no to my crazy ideas.

Because remember when I took them both zip-lining across trees and valleys on my twenty-sixth birthday? And Remeber how much they cried? But also remember how they still survived?

Yeah, I'm not sure they'll survive this one though but we'll find out soon enough. Worst case, they'll projectile puke into the quarry for a few minutes before eventually passing out mid-air I suppose. It'll still be funny from where I'll be standing.

We return from our trip on the evening of April 3, Monday and on April 4, Tuesday, you're going to hear read some very special news on this blog. And for that, I have a very special blog post ready too so stay tuned.

I'm sure the next three days will pretty much zip past us so Tuesday will be here before we even know it, and I'll see you then!
