I remember walking into this year and wondering what it could have in store for me. I also remember how I felt while ringing in the new year of 2017 - happy, hopeful, and positive. 2016 was one of the best years of my life although it started off on the wrong note. So by the end of that year, I was convinced that nothing could come in the way of a successful 2017. Hence, the happiness and hope and positivity.
However, within the first few months of 2017, disappointment struck me like a brick to my face as I soon found out that everything I touched was going up in flames. Ultimately, it was on June 1, 2017 (oh yes, I remember that date as it marked the exact middle of the year), that things started to get better. Basically, the first half of 2017 was shit and I spent the second half of it recovering from that shit while also ensuring that nothing else was about to blow up in my face that year.
The ending though, especially the whole month of December, can be considered to be one of the most confusing times of my life. That, coupled with my experience from the previous year had me a bit skeptical about 2018 and the expectations I should have for the new year.
Verdict: So far, so bloody brilliant!
In the past two weeks alone, I have received good news upon good news, and have been personally feeling very productive, happy, and contented.
As a result of all the good news, though, I must tell you that I might be just a wee bit MIA from this blog until May of this year. Kindly bear with me. But there are exciting things in store and I promise to take you along with me on all of my adventures.
So until next time, have a happy rest of January and a bloody brilliant rest of the year!
But before you leave,
Do you spend time unnecessarily stressing about the new year and timelines in general when you already know that you have very little control over things?
What's 2018 been like for you so far?
