Warm Down

Warning: This is a tiny, stupid "us" post that Shane and I will go back and read when we're drunk and laugh about till we pass out on the kitchen floor. Proceed with caution.

The day of my job interview was one of the coldest days in Edinburgh since it took place right before the onset of the best from the east, a mini version of which, by the way, has been making it snow this weekend, smack dab in the middle of March. Oh hello, Spring!

By the time I got there, seeing as my hands were visibly shaking like a leaf in the wind, my (now) boss even sat me right across from the space heater. Probably to ascertain that the shaking was in fact caused by the cold and not due to withdrawal so it's a good thing I was well and drunk before the interview!

Anyway, on our way there, I used Shane as a human shield against the ice cold winds on multiple occasions because a) I can hide my entire body behind just one of his arms and b) I assumed that since he was so warm-blooded, maybe the winds wouldn't be that cold by the time they reached me after hitting him first.

As it turned out, they were too cold even for Shane and he had his ears to show for that:

A: Wow, it's so cold that even your brown ears are red. I didn't know they could do that!

S: Wow, it's so cold that you're even meaner than usual. I didn't know you could do that either!

A: Seriously, your ears look so weird right now. They need to cool down.

S: You mean warm up.

A: Yeah, sorry, warm down.

S: ...

A: Oh, don't look at me like that. I'm just getting all the stupid out of my system before I convince them to hire me!

And hire me they did.

It's officially day 1 of week two at the new job and I'm lovin' it! I hope you're having a great start to the week wherever you are too :)
