March 2017 - Week 1

Hope this Thursday finds you in a good mood! Thursday is my favourite day of the week for many reasons. First of all, it's right before Friday so it's like a day full of hope as I look forward to the weekend. Strangely enough, Friday, the actual last working day of the week, is often stressful as I try to get as much done as possible before taking at least one whole day off during the weekend. Another reason why Thursdays are my favourite is because a new episode of the podcast comes out every Thursday, and I finally get to share my feelings on the topics we discuss there. For close to a week, Meenal and I spend a lot of time together debating and discussing the topics we wish to base our episodes on. Last Tuesday, we literally spent 5 hours working together, from 2 p.m to 5 p.m and from 8:30 to 10:30 p.m. And when an episode comes out, we always hope that our passion for what we put out there reflects through our work. We hope that you relate to us and our ideas, and engage with us on these topics.

I want to give a special shoutout to Vishnu for his regular feedback and engagement. I had a conversation with him via email where he told me his views and the topics he relates to. It feels incredible to be able to connect with people this way. I also want to thank Ann Mary for her email and her input to us. And of course, many thanks to each and every one of you who sent in your personal and vulnerable stories to us. It takes courage to share and we feel honoured that you chose us to confide in.

This week on the podcast, we discussed something that sent chills down my spine - the murder of an innocent Indian engineer (much like my husband) at the hands of a xenophobe who called him a "terrorist" based on his skin colour. We also talk about the irresponsibility of noted celebrities in spreading the wrong message to their worshippers - (I'm looking at you, Virender Sehwag). I hope you feel like you're a part of our conversation here:

And of course, the final reson why I love Thursdays is music. I'm glad that a lot of you enjoy these playlists. I was wondering if it would be helpful if I compiled all the 28 songs I select every month into a monthly playlist as well. Do let me know if that's something you'd find useful.

This week, the first song you'll hear will be my favourite from this list. It's Blue by the Bloom Twins. My God, their voices. I must also mention that these days, I'm showing a little bit of favouritism to London Grammar. Their Rooting For You which you'll hear on this playlsit is mesmerizing. I hope you enjoy this!

See you tomorrow!
