April 2017 - Week 1

I don't know how your Thursday started off but mine did with a big mug of coffee. I was up till 4 am this morning, sorting out the latest episode of Desi Outsiders. But as much as I want to complain about being sleep deprived, I can't contain my excitement about this episode.

This week, we interviewed YouTube dance guru Esha Malkani of Lasya Dance about how she got to where she was. Our conversation will take you close to 15 years back in time when Meenal attempted to dance with her in her oversized pink lehenga, all the way to a discussion on work-life balance as Esha shares how she built her dance empire while juggling a full-time career as a Chartered Accountant.

I've spoken to so many young boys and girls and even working professionals who've shared their difficulty to choose between a demanding job and an all-time favourite hobby. It's with all those people in mind that we released this episode. I hope you enjoy listening to this conversation as much as we loved having it.

As for music this week, I'm happy to share that there have been a few developments in that area. Since November of last year, I've felt a tad bit frustrated trying to select the perfect medium to share my playlists on so that all my audiences can enjoy what I'm putting out there. Since Spotify is my go-to music app, I would have loved to create and store my playlists there. Unfortunately, that would mean that my Indian audiences wouldn't be able to benefit from it.

But fret not, for we have found a soultion. I was approached by a company called 'Soundsgood' which now enables me to create playlists on their platform which then get automatically shared on Spotify, Soundcloud as well as Youtube. So those of you who've been worried about your mobile data plans while listening to my playlists on Youtube, you can finally listen to them on your chosen medium. Enjoy!
